Takis face in the recent update looks awesome, just need to see Jin (Tekken) in hand now. Well i think they nailed Saitamas heads and i think they got Jin (SC) totally right too. This is far from a simple 's just that SC doesn't have the following larger Shonen/more mainstream animes have.
This for me is perfect, it's a high quality 1/4 statue that looks like it's been taken straight out the anime and that's what i want. I hate what Tsume are doing by pumping details in where they shouldn't be, texturing - and making it realistic, it's not how anime stuff should look for me. I don’t feel any character from them.Ĭompletely disagree. I know a lot of ppl are excited about cowboy bepop, but those statues look really drab. If they really want to capture the anime market, they are going to have to take a leaf out of tsume’s book and not make simple looking statues. One has clean lines and a clean sculpt while the other is highly detailed with a lot going on in terms of shading.
Just comparing this with Oniri’s death note, the 2 look like different animals altogether. Punk samurai genre is not exactly mainstream and there’s stylization of Japanese characters that are not fully captured by F4F. With all the impressive stuff out there, this didn’t really stand a chance without a fan base to follow it. Im not sure what cons they have planned but its definitely going to be better than that.Ĭomes down to complexity and sculpt, how motion is conveyed straight from the anime screen. It was a massive complex with several buildings, and our own building was about the length of 4 football fields. It was a complete wash- barely covered expenses. We knew it wasnt our crowd but we know we do well with good traffic. Last year we were invited to a State Fair where there was supposed to be 1 million in attendance. You can make a good living at these smaller convention centers with only a 10,000 person turnout and youre able to keep costs down. My own family business does art shows, craft shows and festivals all over the midwest. The big cons are probably better like DGK said for exposure and its going to take a while before you start seeing results by building up a base at that specific venue who keep coming back to see you. I know only one thing absolutley- If F4F is looking for immediate sales at these shows they would do much better at smaller venues with anime/game specific crowds.

I hope that Berserk changes that and their licenses like Full Metal Alchemist, One Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop and anything else they get ( My Hero Academia ) flourishes because the passion, the designs, the fan interaction, the availability, the sculpts, paints, everything is all there. Never in my wildest dreams did we think we'd get ANY decent statues of Mugen, never mind in 1/4 etc etc.īut like FriendlySamurai says, it's a weird thing for F4F they just can't seem to get the traction with their anime stuff, which is so weird when they're super high quality and super well priced. Not only are we getting a quality SC statue but he's in 1/4.then he's in this insane pose.with real metal swords and arrows.with a switch out head.for under $450. I guarantee a lot of the reviews will be "i have no idea about these characters or what this show is but hey it looked cool and its HUGE and HEAVY" those sort of collectors.Īt the end of the Day Samurai Champloo is not a huge series, it never had the traction in the West like Cowboy Bebop did ( a lot of people got into anime from Cowboy Bebop/DBZ/Sailor Moon ) but for those who have watched it multiple times and love it this is an amazing thing! I also think with the Figurama stuff they're huge impressive pieces that are drawing in people who aren't even fans.no way was the Devilman piece ordered all by fans lol, especially based on Apocalypse of Amon and Nirasawas interpretation. But aren't Figurama only doing edition sizes of 200-300 pieces? With no Regulars.į4F with the 2 week EX window will never get that rush for people to order and from what Alex has said they never want that, they want everyone to get a fair chance to order.
